Welcome to Bufferzone. This site is your online resource to allow you access to free and independent advocacy services which will empower you to have a voice in Cornwall. We exist to provide ADVOCACY/MENTORING to vulnerable people with mental health issues with empathy.

	Bufferzone can provide an advocacy/mentoring service for all types of issues that you may feel you need support with. Advocacy is the act of mediating on behalf of a particular issue, idea or person – in this case we provide advocacy for vulnerable people with mental health issues in regards to their SOCIAL NEEDS.
We discuss, communicate with all services, to find appropriate support for individual needs.

We are INDEPENDENT FROM THE NHS SERVICES.

	The issues dealt with have been far ranging and include the following:- Benefits issues Homelessness Drugs and Alcohol Medical Assessments Crisis Intervention Suicide Prevention Trained Safeguard Adult Trained ESA and DLA Tribunals Neighbour disputes. Care plans and assessments Debt issues and bailiffs.

Our Achievements

Bufferzone in March 2011 signed an information sharing protocol with CFT.

In June 2010 Bufferzone attended the Royal Cornwall show, with Heaven Scent. During the show Heaven scent raised £1340 which was shared between Shelter Box and Bufferzone. It is with great thanks to the hardwork and support from Heaven Scent and their students for the sum of £670 we received.

2010/11 Bufferzone attended 36 tribunals and secured over £27,000 in benefits for the vulnerable in our community.

We now have a Facebook Page, explains how and who to take with you for capability assessments.

Currently we ask for donations to attend tribunals with clients.
